NAZARETH, (PIC)-- The ministry of housing in the government of Benjamin Netanyahu has called for tenders to construct 692 housing units in three neighborhoods in occupied Jerusalem, Hebrew press reported on Monday.
The paper and the Israeli TV channel ten reported that Netanyahu's emissary had briefed the American envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell on the planned constructions and that they are located in areas near Ramallah and Bethlehem districts.
The paper quoted sources close to Netanyahu as saying that he was keen on the "principle of transparency" in informing the Americans about his settlement bids while noting that the settlement freeze "does not include building in eastern Jerusalem".
