NAZARETH, (PIC)-- Israeli war ministry has admitted that construction works continued unabated in at least one Jewish settlement in the northern West Bank contrary to Israeli government claims of temporarily freezing settlement expansion in the West Bank. |
Israeli media reported on Friday that the said ministry admitted that construction work has not stopped at the Keryat Nitavim in the northern West Bank.
The continued construction, does not only belie Israeli government claims of freezing settlement expansion but also goes against an Israeli high court ruling temporarily banning the building at the said settlement.
These admissions were part of the official government reply to the high court which was petitioned by the "peace now movement" to stop construction in the settlement.
